Coaches vs. Cancer Event
Thank you to all those involved for including the Isadora J. Seibert Foundation as a beneficiary of the Coaches vs. Cancer event held at Governor Livingston High School in Berkeley Heights, NJ. Governor Livingston's boys varsity basketball team played against Jonathan Dayton High School of Springfield. Proceeds from the benefit were shared amongst the American Cancer Society, Cancer Stinks Children Foundation, and the Isadora J. Seibert Foundation. At the event, a table was graciously manned by teacher volunteers who were all very close friends of Isadora (Ms. Toporek, Mrs. Dhaibar, Ms. Klassel, and Mr. McGovern). They distributed information about the Isadora J. Seibert Foundation as well as the St. Baldrick's Foundation, an organization that works to defeat childhood cancers. Bracelets with the phrase "To Teach IS (as in Isadora Seibert) to Inspire Lives Forever" were available for a small donation. "Is" was the nickname Isadora's teacher peers affectionately called her. Thank you to the GL family for remembering and keeping Isadora close. Donations were gratefully accepted at the table and the Foundation is most appreciative of those who were able to make a donation. The event raised $758.00 and will be added to the Isadora Seibert Teacher Scholarship Fund, which is awarded at the end of the school year to deserving seniors at Governor Livingston High School who will be attending college in pursuit of a teaching career. Thank you to all.
